Master Class

The JEONJU International Film Festival hosts Master Classes featuring selected experts who have achieved exceptional cinematic accomplishments and carved out their unique place in the industry.

  • Each Master Class runs for 90 minutes following the film screening.
  • Admission: KRW 15,000 (includes film screening)
  • Simultaneous interpretation services (English) will be provided.

Master filmmaker Bae Chang-ho, who led the golden age of Korean cinema in the 1980s and 1990s, shares insights from his cinematic journey. While gaining popular acclaim with films like Whale Hunting (1984) and Deep Blue Night (1985), he also pushed artistic boundaries through works such as Hwang Jin-yi and The Dream. This master class highlights his dual identity as both a commercially successful and artistically daring filmmaker while exploring the development of his unique cinematic philosophy while balancing commercial appeal and artistic vision at pivotal moments in Korean film history.
