Review
On his short leave from the army, private first class Minhyeong goes to his girlfriend's place to see her. But upon arrival, he finds a moving company worker carrying luggage out, and his girlfriend has vanished without a trace. Stunned, he is lost in thought, clutching an empty pot she left behind. The prevailing mood of the film is one of vague uneasiness and a lingering sense of gloomy anxiety. The premise of a girlfriend disappearing without a word sparks mystery and leaves the audience intrigued, but the film makes no attempt to fully explain it. The Empty Pot just quietly portrays the bewildered protagonist holding the empty pot—a symbol of his hollow heart. When viewed with a focus on his inner world rather than the unfolding of events, the film lingers in the mind long after watching.
