From Toronto to Oslo, we follow the journey of a young academic Audrey Benac. Audrey undertakes a quest towards one woman—the acclaimed early 20th-century Canadian violinist Kathleen Parlow—as she simultaneously flees from another, her failed musician mother.

Sofia Bohdanowicz, whose earlier works have been consistently introduced at the JEONJU IFF, returns with what might be her most ambitious work yet. Though larger in scope, the film maintains her distinctive cinematic vision and thematic interest. We once again follow Audrey Benac, the director's alter ego, played as always by Deragh Campbell. Audrey crosses the globe doing research for her paper on Canadian musician Kathleen Parlow, while simultaneously trying to escape mounting family tensions and personal frustrations. The film culminates in an orchestral performance that marks a new starting point for the director's body of work. (Sung MOON)
